Requirements to Hire Driver License Requirements

All hirers must be in possession of a valid, original driving licence including the photo ID, valid for the entire rental period. The name of the renter must match the name confirmed on the booking voucher. Driving licenses must be in English, International Driving Permit is required when a driving license is not in English. The hirer is solely responsible to ensure that their license is valid for use in the respective country and to determine whether an International Driving Permit is required by local law. Failure to provide a valid licence and IDP permit (as required) will result in a non-refundable termination of the reservation at the rental counter. In the event that the hirer arrives at the rental desk without the necessary documentation, the booking will be cancelled. In these cases, there will be no refund. You may be denied rental for reasons including, but not limited to the following:

Forms of Identification
Valid photo ID (passport or national ID).
Florida residents must provide proof of residence / current payslip matching driver’s license.

Accepted cards stated above must be in the main driver’s name with sufficient funds available to cover the excess liability. If using the credit card of another person in the party, they must be present and become the main driver on the contract, with anyone else in the party being added as an additional driver (if they wish) at an additional charge. Failure to provide a valid card may result in the booking being cancelled and no funds for the prepaid amount reimbursed. In the event that the original booking was paid for utilizing a third party credit or debit card, hirers may be required to present details, permissions and authorization relating to the transaction. Failure to provide the information requested may result in the hire being refused.

Driver Age Requirements

Voucher

A printed or electronic copy of your voucher must be produced upon arrival at the rental desk. Failure to present the voucher means the car rental agent may charge you at the local rates – the car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle, in which case no prepaid funds will be reimbursed.

Deposits, Excess and Additional Cover

We will require a security deposit to be reauthorized on the credit card of the main driver. A pre-authorization is the method by which a deposit amount is ring- fenced rather than transacted as a sale. The monies must be available in the account but will not leave it. The amount will not be available to the account holder until released by their bank. The period until the funds are released is usually between 5 and 15 days but can be longer depending on the type of card and country of issue.
A security deposit will be withheld on the credit card for various reasons including but not limited to Loss of Use/Diminishing of Value (regardless of fault in auto accident), unauthorized rental extensions, damage, recovery of vehicle, driving rental car outside state of Florida boundaries, etc
This company does dot take insurance from out of USA applicable for (Canada or Puerto Rico)Customers who intend to use third party insurance will be required to have a minimum of 1,000 USD for the deposit.

US Source Rates
USA sourced rates are prices obtained only when browsing from a USA IP address. Rate structures in the USA differ from other continents in that they are not packages and usually exclude any insurance or taxation.

Auto Insurance Requirements
Customers intending to self-insure our vehicles are required to produce sufficient proof of auto insurance, to include comprehensive and collision deductibles. If opting to self-insure, you must carry a full coverage policy, to include both physical damage and liability.
If opting to utilize credit card CDW, please note liability is not covered by credit cards, and the guest must purchase SLI from the rental counter. Insurance verification must be presented in the form of documentation (declaration page of policy), email or via the insurance company’s mobile application only. If proof of insurance cannot be provided, clients will be able to purchase insurance at the counter.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):
This is not an insurance and is an optional product available for purchase at the time of rental. In most states, in the event of any other loss or damage to the car, regardless of fault, your financial responsibility extends to the full value of the car at the time of rental, less its salvage value, plus expenses for towing, storage impound fees, an administrative fee and a reasonable charge for loss of use. If a Debit card or cash is allowed at the rental counter for the security deposit, the purchase of our CDW plan will be mandatory. (This description is for informational purposes only. Please refer to the materials provided at the time of rental for specific policy provisions and exclusions).
The following items are excluded from the Collision Damage Waiver: Tyres, wheels, rear view and side mirrors, windows, windshield, hubcaps, taxi (transportation), towing costs, locks, battery, motor, undercarriage and interior of car, clutch, replacement keys, Damage to oil sump, Catalytic convertor, Radiator. The purchase of a CDW plan will be required to proceed if renter does not have sufficient auto insurance.

Please note the purchase of a CDW is mandatory when renting car groups FL-OV (12 seater) and FL-OV2 (15 seater). Average insurance company will NOT insure a 12-15 passenger van as it is considered a commercial vehicle and exceeds certain weight. For further details, please ask the pick-up location. *Depends on CDW plan selected, with corresponding deductibles.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)
This is available for an additional daily charge for each rental day. SLI is a secondary insurance product that picks up where primary liability (state statutory limits) leaves off. When combined with primary liability coverage, SLI provides the renter and any authorized driver up to 1,000,000 USD of liability protection for third party claims due to bodily injury or property damage. In order for SLI to pay on a claim, however, the state statutory limits must first at least be satisfied. The policy will respond only after all other available insurance has been exhausted. The purchase of SLI will be required if renter does not own a vehicle or auto insurance policy in their name. If insuring your rental car with a credit card which has rental car benefits, the purchase of SLI will be required, unless renter has proof of liability auto insurance which must be presented at the time of pickup. *Car hire does not take insurance from Canada or Puerto Rico. *There is some restrictions on the insurance please contact car rental for details

Breakdown Assistance
Roadside assistance is optional and available to purchase at the counter. Road side assistance covers items such as key delivery, flat tires, towing unrelated to an accident, jumpstart, lockout service and limited fuel delivery to reach the nearest service station. Roadside assistance does not cover the cost for replacement tire, unless the tire was faulty or not within proper tread levels, or lost or damage of keys.

All optional extras can be subject to price changes without notice; additionally, optional extras are subject to availability.

Installation of Baby / Child Seats
Responsibility for the installation of child/ baby seats rests with the hirer and will not be done by employees. This is due to liability in case of inappropriate installation.

Cross Border / Cross State Travel
Border crossing is not permitted; renters are required to stay within Florida for the full duration of their rental.

Delivery/ Collection Service
Delivery/Collection service is currently not available.

Out of Hours Collection and Drop Off
Out of hours services are treated as on request and cannot be guaranteed. Not all locations offer out of hours returns and a 24 hour service should not be assumed where out of hours service is offered. Please enquire with the rental station directly.

One Way Hire
Not all locations offer one-way rentals. Where offered, an additional fee will be charged.
When entering your pick up point on the website, it will automatically display all available drop off locations and the prices shown will be inclusive of the one way surcharge. The website will only display available one way locations. If your desired drop off location is not displaying on the website, this option is not available and is not permitted.

Policies
Vehicle Group/Model
Vehicles are classified into groups using the ACRISS codes. The group is indicated on the top right of the vehicle image and the description at the top left. Reservations are confirmed for a group and not a particular model unless shown otherwise. We are unable to guarantee a particular make/model or fuel type unless a guaranteed model group has been booked. The vehicle shown on any documentation is for guidance only and may be substituted with an alternative, similar or upgraded vehicle at our discretion. Model groups described as “or similar” are not guaranteed. Model groups described as “make / model guaranteed” are guaranteed model groups.

Vehicle Condition
Vehicles must be returned to the location/drop off point in the same condition as when it was picked up/delivered. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the vehicle is thoroughly checked prior to taking custody of the vehicle. If the hirer does not complete the vehicle check with either the app (for Drive & Go and Key & Go customers), or via the Vehicle Condition Form prior to leaving the rental premises, the hirer accepts the current condition of the vehicle within the miami life systems as valid.
Whilst in charge of the vehicle the hirer accepts responsibility for maintaining the roadworthiness of the vehicle and agrees to take remedial action to avoid unnecessary cost/damage. This will include maintaining oil levels, tire pressures and other common sense actions to maintain the vehicle. Costs will generally be covered only if it’s authorized in advance from the rental branch.
The hirer must return the vehicle in a clean condition (normal wear and tear excepted). If the vehicle is exceptionally dirty upon return or if there is damage to the seats, seat upholstery or the carpets, an additional charge for deep cleaning will apply. This charge will be dependent upon the actual state of the vehicle when returned.
Any damage caused to the vehicle, if returned out of hours, is the responsibility of the hirer until the rental agents have checked in the vehicle. In keeping with industry standards and association guidelines, short term vehicle rental does not have a margin of fair wear and tear for damage. A short term rental is any hire for which the duration is less than 90 consecutive days. Any change to the condition of the vehicle during the rental will be the responsibility of the customer.

Accidents
Failure to report accidents truthfully and in keeping with the rental terms and conditions will result in risk reduction packages being null and void. Failure to cooperate or providing false information in connection with a claim will result in the driver being liable for all claims costs. In the event that a customer is involved in an accident during the hire period, a replacement vehicle is not guaranteed

Operates a fair Fuel Policy; hirers are requested to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as was supplied at the time of collection. Missing fuel will be charged per liter (daily rate) and an additional refueling charge will apply. You may be required to leave a fuel deposit reserved on your credit card which will be released when you return the car with same amount of fuel. Missing fuel will be charged on your return. The price per liter charged by the rental agent may be higher than the price at the local service station.

β€’ Florida residents are allowed a maximum of 100 miles per day, not to exceed 3000 miles per month extra mile is 4.25$ per mile.

Geographical Restrictions Policy
Unlimited mileage is available only when traveling within the stated geographical area. Use of the vehicle is restricted to within the State of Florida.
For those traveling outside of the geographical restricted area, a mileage charge will apply. At the time of rental, mileage packages are available. Please inquire directly with the renting location.
Mileage is unlimited for all customers arriving into MIA-MCO international airport with a return ticket.

Smoking Policy
A strict no smoking policy is in place for all vehicles. If you have smoked or allowed smoking within the vehicle, charges will apply. This includes allowing cigarette (or cigar) smoke or ash into the vehicle, which would imply the above. A minimum fee of 400 USD will apply.

Valeting/Animals in Vehicles
No animals should be transported in our vehicle unless contained. A valeting fee may be applied to rectify any soiling due to animal transportation. A minimum fee of 350 USD will apply.
In the event that a vehicle is returned in an unclean condition (internally or externally) and requires more than our standard clean, a valeting charge of 400 USD will apply. Hazardous or excessive soiling requiring specialist cleaning will be charged according to the nature of the specialist required.

Delayed Collections/ No show policy
Reservations will be held for 2 hours from the specified reservation time after which they will be classed as a no-show. If the hirer arrives after this time or if the rental station closes in the interim, then a vehicle is not assured. miami life will do everything possible to provide a vehicle. This may include offering a different vehicle and rates may be different to the original booking. In the event of a no- show, the booking is non-refundable. Flight numbers provided are for informational purposes only. It is the responsibility of the hirer to inform the location of any delays

Ferry
Cars are not permitted on ferries

Lost Keys
A charge will apply if keys are lost or damaged. Please note that if a vehicle is stolen and keys are not returned to the rental location, the hirer will be deemed negligent. Lost keys are deemed as negligence and are not covered under the insurance excess limitation or risk reduction packages. Hirers will be liable for all costs relating to recovery, loss of use and repair. This list is not exhaustive.

Lost Property
In the event that personal belongings are left in the vehicle or at the rental station, it must be reported at the earliest convenience to company who will endeavor to find and return the item/s. However, miami life cars and its representatives will not be held liable for any loss or damage to belongings left in the hire car or within the rental premises.

Rental Extensions
It may not always be possible for the hiring branch to extend the rental. Where the branch agrees an extension, the rental will be charged at the prevailing rate which may be higher or lower than the original booking rate.

Non-authorized rental extension
If the hirer fails to return the vehicle within the specified time, a penalty charge of at least 200 USD will be applied and the hirer will be black listed (declined for future bookings).

Early Returns/Unused Rental Days
No refunds (partial or full) will be given for rentals ended early including the purchase of ancillary items, late collections, no shows or cancellations made after the rental start date.

Late Returns
A vehicle is hired for a contracted period as detailed on the rental agreement. The return day and time as selected by the hirer at the time of booking will be enforced regardless of delayed pickup time. If the vehicle is returned outside the grace period, a 40 USD late fee will be applied. Further admin charges and legal action can be taken and assessed in the event the vehicle remains to be overdue. Charges will be withdrawn from the card provided for the security deposit. Grace period: 2 hours

Amendments
Reservation amendments must be requested in writing via email at least 24 hours prior to the start of your rental. Please note that telephone amendments will not be accepted. An amendment request is not assured and amendments may be treated as a new booking.

Fines, Penalties and Administration Charges
The renter is fully responsible for the payment of all vehicle parking and moving citations assessed against the renter or the vehicle during the rental period, including all such citations captured by camera and any related fines, fees, or penalties. If a citation issuing authority notifies us that we will be liable for any such citation and any related fines, fees, or penalties, you will be charged 25 USD administrative fee for each such notification in addition to the fine, fee, or penalty. The renter is obligated to inform the rental agency about the fine payments.

Vehicle Trackers
Some of the vehicles contain tracking devices which will be used in accordance with our data protection policy.

Opening Hours
The hirer is responsible to check the location’s operational hours, along with any national or public holiday closures.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of your reservation should be made in writing, or cancelled through your account on the miami life cars website. Please note that telephone cancellations will not be accepted.

β€’ Standard Cancellation Policy (except for Basic* and Premium Plus** Packages)

β€’ The notice period is based on a day being a 24 hour period, up to the start time,not a calendar day.

β€’ Cancellation notification sent 7 or more days before the start date: the prepaid amount will be refunded minus a 15 USD admin fee.

β€’ Cancellation notification sent 3-6 days before the start date: 50% of the prepaid amount will be refunded.

β€’ Cancellation notification sent 2 days before the start date: 25% of the prepaid amount will be refunded.

β€’ Cancellation notification sent 0-1 days before the start date: no refund due.

β€’ All prepaid reservations will be subject to a minimum cancellation fee of 15 USD.

β€’ For any bookings where the prepaid amount is less than 15 USD, there will be no refund due regardless of when the cancellation request was made.

β€’ For pay on arrival reservations made online, the no-show/cancellation fee will equal the pre-paid amount and no refund will be due.

Free Cancellation until 48 hours of the reservation start time. Cancellations made less than 48 hours from the start time would be non-refundable.

Terms of Use
General Terms
All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions. Limited cannot accept liability for any charges incurred on documentation signed for and accepted locally. Limited will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs causing willful damage, off road driving or driving without due care and attention. The hirer will accept responsibility in respect of such claims. This list is not exclusive.
